Coach Registration

We are always looking for new coaches who want to help get more kids on bikes!  You do not need to be an experienced mountain biker to be a coach; you can learn right along with the students!  The most important attributes needed to be a coach are a positive attitude, patience, and a passion for helping others.

These are the steps required to become one of our volunteer coaches:

  1. Contact the Team Director – – to let them know you are interested in coaching.
  2. Commit to being at practice at least one day a week (we practice 3 days a week).
  3. Register with NICA in the Pit Zone ($60 registration fee)
  4. Within the Pit Zone, pay $38 for a background check (First Time Applicants)
  5. Within the Pit Zone, complete the minimum online training required to become a Level 1 Coach (NICA Philosophy, Safety, and Risk Management; CDC concussion protocol; Athlete Abuse Awareness; and NICA Level 1 Coaches Course)

Financial assistance is available for coaching fees. If you need assistance paying the registration and background check fees, please mention this to the Team Director in your introductory email.
